I have been involved in a number of technical User Groups, and occasionally present or blog about topics which interest me. SQL Saturday Training Day session selection process

We want to be totally clear with all the people kind enough to submit a Training Day session to us for SQL Saturday Exeter on how we consider the submissions and the process that we apply to select the sessions that we want for our conference.

SQL Saturday Exeter has, at the heart of its existence, some simple but important goals and we select the sessions that we think will best help us reach those goals.

October Meeting

We are back to our normal third Thursday routine for October’s user group – we are meeting on Thursday the 16th of October at the Jury’s Inn in Exeter city centre.

At this month’s User Group, we have two great sessions from Jonathan Allen (b | t) and Rob Sewell (b | t).

Jonathan is going to take you through some free tools and resources to help manage both large and small SQL environments. There are so many great free tools out there to help with anything from identify where you have slow running queries to alerting you to deadlocks and giving you a heath assessment of your server.

Rob also has something great planned that will most likely involve a little Powershell. ; )

If you have a particular issue, database design question, slow running query or anything related to SQL Server that you need help with or you have something you want to share with the group then bring it with you! As always there will be Pizza in the break and drinks after in the Bar at the Jury’s Inn.

If you can’t make it to our October meeting, we will be back at the Jury’s Inn in Exeter on 27th November, and we hope to see you there.
