The Select * Coffee Bar will have lots of information regarding your SQL Community. Events will be taking place here during the day, please feel free to join in and put your thoughts forward. We are excited to announce that the SQLSaturday Exeter is having a 'Women in Technology Unplugged' session, in recognition of International Womens' Day during the lunch break.
Our topic for discussion is 'Networking for Techies' and we’ll have an informal
chat over coffee in the Community Corner. Come and join other interested people
to build personal connections, and gain insights via our informative discussion.
Attendees will share insights and experience, stimulate new ideas and have an engaging
discussion!
Topics include:
- How to use LinkedIn?
- Does 'speed networking' work?
- How to network at technical events?
- Ice-breakers?
If you're interested in learning about how to network better, please join us for this facilitated discussion and find ways in which to move your career to the next stage. This is a 'Women in Technology' session but 'Men in Technology' are very welcome, too! MIT participation is very welcome. We look forward to seeing you there.

We are very pleased to announce that the next SQL Saturday in the UK will take place in Exeter. Plans are in place to build the team of people that will arrange this event and we will be getting details of how to register as a delegate in due course.
In addition to the free community day we will be running a pre-con day on Friday 8th with deep-dive sessions from some of the finest speakers and trainers in the business.

Exeter, UK
Exeter is the county town of Devon and is just about as far West as the Romans reached
when they took a shine to this part of the world. The city is well served by rail,
road and air transport. Plymouth is approximately 60 minutes away by car or train
and is where you will find the
Mayflower Steps - the place where the Pilgrim Fathers set sail for North
America in 1620.

is located in the centre of Exeter. It is easily accessible by both public transport
and by car.
By Plane
Exeter airport is a 20 minute drive away, taxis cost approximately £13 for a normal
car, or if you can get some friends together a 6 – 8 seater is between £19 and £22,
or the #56 bus goes from the airport to Exeter Bus Station hourly and Exeter Bus
Station is within a 2 minute walk from the venue.

By Train
There are three train stations in Exeter, Exeter St Davids station is on a direct line from London Paddington and London Waterloo and is the most likely one that you will use. Exeter Central is a 10-15 minute walk from the venue and the other station is Exeter St Thomas. From Exeter St Davids you can get a Taxi which will cost approximately £7 or there is a bus stop immediately outside the station and the following Number 56, 56A and 56B go to the bus station which is within a 2 minute walk from of the venue. You can also get a train to Exeter Central station and walk from there.
By Car
There are 2 car parks next door to the venue. There is an open air car park which charges £6.20 for a 24 hour period and an NCP Multi Storey car park that costs £10.80 for 5+ hours, delegates will get a 15% discount at this car park if their ticket is validated at the hotel reception which makes a 24 hour cost of £9.20. Hotel discount
We have negotiated a discounted rate for delegates who wish to stay at the venue. The price of a twin room (1 double and 1 single bed) or a double room is £75 including breakfast for 1 person, additional people can stay in the room but if they require breakfast it is an extra £10 per person. Each room can have a Z bed if you wish to bring your family so a room can take up to 4 people. To get this rate please quote SQLSAT_N
